You’re hot then you’re cold, you’re yes then you’re no. I didn’t know what Katy Perry was talking about until I experienced the weather from this day. The rain just couldn’t make up it’s mind if it wanted to stay or not. Despite that I made the most of my day in Atlanta. First I went to a restaurant that I’ve tried to go to several times but no matter how many attempts I made, it seemed to be closed. It’s called The Optimist and is a seafood and oyster bar. If you know me then you know a good oyster is the way to my heart, especially during the summer. I could have easily eaten a whole bucket of these oysters for lunch but I stopped myself at half a dozen. As my entree I got the most buttery and mouth watering lobster roll you can get.
After food was thrift shopping and what better place for that than Little Five Points. This is also in the Atlanta area and has some of my favorite vintage shops like The Clothing Wearhouse and Rag-O-Rama. So with a whole 35$ in my wallet and no will power I bought the most magical indigo button down blazer dress.
It was now picture time but of course the building I wanted to take pictures at was closed for Memorial day. Never fret though, I had a back up plan and it could not have turned out better. I went to Ponce City Market. Ponce City Market is an Atlanta staple, this place has literally everything from every type of food, coffee, and shopping. I’m not talking just clothing shopping either, I mean things like home goods and plants as well. Along with shopping it has a plethora of picture opportunities, so if you don’t know where to go to capture that perfect outfit of the day pic, this is it.
I started upstairs in Citizen Supply which has many booths and a literal backdrop for pictures. There is a section in the corner that is filled with cacti, succulents and a wicker peacock chair aka my throne. This area was so bohemian, perfectly lit, and suited my outfit well. Needless to say I had a mini photoshoot there with people passing by telling me I did good on taking advantage of such an aesthetically pleasing place. Next I moved to the white backdrop where there was a line of people to take pictures, but I mean, who doesn’t love a simple clean picture. Finally I made my way down to leave and spotted the Ponce car. It is a vintage aqua Bronco and was calling my name. So channeling my inner Alex Centomo ( if you don’t know who she is her user name on Instagram is @alexcentomo) I posed in front of the car and felt like the ultimate blogger. There were even a few people who stopped their cars and told me how much they loved my look.
This brings me to what I was actually wearing that day. Like I said before originally I had planned this outfit around the building that was closed but regardless it still matched every setting. I wore some brown paper bag high waisted wide leg pants with a white lace bodysuit, and gold chains. I have seen these white lace bodysuits all over social media so I got a less sheer one to wear. Paper bag waist pants are also a huge yes this season and paired well with the bodysuit. I was feeling some major Parisian vibes in this outfit. Both of these items separately can be worn with multiple other things and are really classic pieces. Lastly I accessorized with my staple gold necklaces and large gold hoop earrings. Gold necklaces are great to have because they can spruce up even the most simple outfit. I will link everything below and I hope everyone enjoyed their day off!
